Yoga brought me healing when I was at my most vulnerable.  I enrolled in teacher training in 2001 to understand why and how blending breath, awareness, movement and stillness was so profoundly powerful.

Yoga gave me the gift of space; to breathe, to rest, to move mindfully; a sharp contrast to the mindless movement (aka a way too busy life) that had led to my significant illness. After receiving my RYT 200, my passion was to bring yoga to any and all, but especially those that felt they weren’t equipped.

Training, experience and time led me to teach yoga at Beaumont Health, to work with a pediatric practice, to bring mindfulness based yoga to school children and their teachers, and ultimately to assist in creating the Beaumont School of Yoga Therapy, where I taught the RYT 200 program for 5 years, in addition to yoga and yoga therapy classes for patient populations.

For years, my personal practice has largely been a home - based practice, periodically popping in and out of many area yoga studios. The one studio I kept returning to was Yoga Shelter. I felt at home; accepted and welcomed after each and every absence. I am beyond excited in my new capacity as Director of Teacher Training and Teacher Development. We all learn best when we learn together and from each other. I feel blessed to be here.
