Hi! I’m Kori, mom trying to keep up with my 3 school aged kids (2 middle school sons who play travel
lacrosse; a feisty daughter who wants to do alllll the things), married to my college sweetheart who I met
on day 1 as a freshman at Central Michigan University (Fire UP Chips!). Originally from the small village of
Pentwater on the west side of Michigan, I’m a beach girl at heart… and the sun, sand and water always bring
me peace. I grew up as an athlete and always have enjoyed the outdoors. My other hobbies include
cooking, traveling with friends, going to concerts and attending my kids’ sporting events.
Like many other yogis and yoga instructors, yoga has come in and out of my life at different seasons of life.
It seems to have stuck with me these past few years after COVID. Over the years I’ve tried different studios,
styles of yoga and different teachers. I’ve grown quite passionate about vinyasa, my preferred style to both
practice and teach… but I do truly appreciate and love a great yin class for slowing down. I love yoga for all
the ways in which it serves me… body, mind and spirit.
I found Bold Flow when a group of mom friends organized a yoga and brunch at Yoga Shelter as it was
transitioning to Bold Flow and it reignited my passion and desire to find my practice again. Through yoga, I
began finding time for myself again, connecting with other moms from my kids’ school (owners Katie &
Susan, instructor Tina + several other regular yogis who practice at Bold Flow)… and I began to feel a part of
a community as I dove deeper into not just the physicality of yoga, but the deeper, mental / spiritual /
emotional practice that has helped me cope with so many areas of my life, struggles that I had been going
through during and after Covid. I was no longer just surviving, or even just finding escape, but beginning to
find peace and I truly looked forward to coming to every class at Bold Flow. I was also fortunate enough to
attend the 2 nd yoga retreat in December 2023 in Costa Rica and it was beyond incredible, further igniting my
passion and solidifying my decision to teach.
So much of my life I’ve been taking care of others, yoga has helped me learn to prioritize taking care of
myself too, which in turn helps me be a more centered, patient and loving caregiver to others. Self care is
not an expense, it is an investment! I am so thankful for the experience I’ve had at Bold Flow and the
welcoming environment that they create. I’ve met so many wonderful souls, including those who I went to
Costa Rica with as well as went through YTT with, and I look forward to bringing my passion for yoga to
those that I come across in the studio and in my life!
Keep peace in your mind, strength in your body and love in heart. Namaste.
